Mon County Democrats showed their spirit at the WVU Homecoming parade on Friday night, October 13th. Our colorful, patriotic “liberty” float was flanked by dozens of sign-carrying marchers. It was a great way to get out the vote of the thousands of cheering citizens lining downtown Morgantown streets. Now is the time to protect our liberty by electing Democrats! Many thanks to Kathy Abate and the whole float crew who worked on this event. And a special thanks to our own Miss Liberty, Emma Taylor.

Fundraising Dinner MONDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2006

AT THE RAMADA INN IN MORGANTOWN. Congressman Mollohan has confirmed to be there. We are trying to get Senator Byrd, Senator Rockefeller, all the Statewide Office Holders and all our local candidates there to really show that Monongalia County Democrats are united for victory on November 7th! Social Hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner at 7:00 p.m. The price of each ticket is $45. Tables are being sold for $500 each. This is going to be a REALLY nice event. Please try and get your tickets early.

We really need to make this fundraiser as huge success. The money we raise from this dinner is what will be paying for our radio spots, newspaper ads, and all our other advertising for our candidates.
October 7th - “Get Out The Vote” kicks off

October 7th will kick off a statewide “Get Out The Vote” effort by the WV State Democratic Party.

October 11th - “Iraq for Sale” Movie Reception

West Virginia for Democracy is sponsoring a free viewing on Wednesday, October 11th of Robert Greenwald’s movie “Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers” at the Warner Theatre on High Street. Show times will be at 7 and 9 p.m.

The Executive Committee will be hosting a reception for the movie viewers after the 7 o’clock show time at the Headquarters on High Street. Please come join us for food, drink and discussion of the movie.

Phone Bank dates, times and location:

November 2nd - 5 to 7 p.m.

Headquarters - Volunteer!

Individuals interested in volunteering can call the Party Headquarters at 291-2530 or stop in. Residents can support their party by purchasing t-shirts and donkeys for sale at the headquarters. The shirts are $10.00 and the donkeys are $5.00. Have a neighbor that can’t get out? Give them a ride to the polls and encourage everyone to vote!
